Lost Revenue
The lost revenue is the donation amount that we have missed due to declines.
Calculation steps
- Get all donors whose recurring gifts are failed in each month of the selected filter(s).
- From the results from step 1, find each record’s last successful transaction before the decline occurs.
- From the results from step 2, find each record’s gift amount of the last successful transaction date.
- From the results from step 3, sum all gift amounts grouped by transaction month to derive the lost revenue.
Caveats
- We might not be able to derive the intended gift amount for the case that recurring gifts were failed in their first attempt, which will force the logic to use the zero amount for the transactions that it couldn’t found the last successful transaction before this decline occurs.
- RE NXT has data capture limitation because RE NXT stores the final results of each instalment and use zero amount for failed transactions.
